USA, 9 ET/PT
The good news for fans of this USA series is that Hank (Mark Feuerstein) is back in the family fold, and that's as far as the good news extends. Writing was never Pains' strong suit, but the script here is so plodding — and its final twist so soap-opera silly — you wonder if the network has just given up. (If anyone has ever actually uttered the words "Did you get your pelvis fixed or are you just happy to see us?" I'd prefer not to know.) If this is the best Pains can do for Hank's return, he would have been wiser just to stay away — as might you.

The team searches for Simmons in this follow-up to the surprise murder of Taraji P. Henson's Carter. Losing an actor of Henson's standing is a hard blow for any series to withstand, but the character no longer served much purpose, and the role never really showed the best of her abilities. Let's hope Fox's upcoming series Empire does not make the same mistake.
FX, 10 ET/PT
There are only two more episodes left in this fabulous miniseries, an odds-on favorite to dominate the Emmys in that category. So if you haven't been watching — well, really. Why haven't you been watching?
