OLYMPIA, Wash. -- Authorities in Washington state say they have received what they believe to be a credible tip as to the location of Victor Barnard, a former Minnesota minister charged with 59 counts of sexual molestation of children.
Police say someone reported seeing Barnard leaving a McDonalds restaurant and driving away in a dark blue Audi with tinted widows and a spoiler. The witness told police a female was riding with him at the time.
An arrest warrant was issued for the religious leader accused of having sex with two girls beginning when they were just 12 and 13 years old.
A criminal complaint issued against 52-year-old Victor Arden Barnard says the defendant was the charismatic leader of a religious group that set up a compound called "The River Road Fellowship" on some rural land near Finlayson. Prosecutors say Barnard set up a subgroup of the fellowship called The Maiden's Group, made up only of young females.
