Michelle Obama to appear on Fallon's 'Tonight Show'
First lady Michelle Obama travels to New York City today for several events and appears on The Tonight Show, joining host Jimmy Fallon's debut week. After Fallon's first show Monday, USA TODAY TV critic Robert Bianco said Fallon is an easy-to-like TV persona with a gentle style that seems well-suited to Tonight.
Today is the women's figure skating long program and women's hockey. Some have called the Team USA vs. Team Canada match-up at noon ET one of the best best rivalries of the Winter Games.

The first Powerball winner of 2014 bought the ticket at a Chevron Station in Milpitas, Calif. The winning numbers of 1, 17, 35, 49 and 54, with Powerball number of 34 and Power Play number of 3 were selected last night around 11 p.m. ET. The jackpot is estimated at $425.3 million, with a cash payout option of $242.2 million, making it one of the largest in U.S. history.
Severe storms take aim on central and eastern U.S.
